Rotating Prodder
«

I was examining the Owen Clarke Design website and I found an interesting idea for a prodder.
My thoughts were that it is very simple and could reduce the need for ropes running everywhere for outriggers and what not.
I can also see it being better for when reaching with the pole right foward.
Does anyone know if it's been done before on a mini?

Do you have a link to the drawing ? Its to small to see how it will rotate back at the start and be in the hull form lines.
If you want simple look at the Pogo2 and Zero for no jockey poles solution.

I think at the start you should be able to let the lines off enough to have it rotate back, the only thing I would question is if the part that extends inboards while the pole is being used would fit within the rules when rotated back for the start.

Ah, the Hexagon sprit solution, it looks a bit complicated. Search for photos of htat open 60 end maybe you find a better photo.

Would you be able to do it without the horn thing? What is the normal max rotation on the pole of a mini.

For light downwind, I have seen it at almost 90 degrees if you special purpose spi for that.
