Solar panel
« on: January 09, 2017, 20:47:14 PM »
Hi
I have a solar panel, working well (about 100w), but too heavy. I want to change it, but there are so many models ...
Any info about the ones installed on the new minis ? (brand and reference) ??

Thanks

Not sure where you're based, but worth also looking here https://www.marlec.co.uk/solar-power/?v=79cba1185463. They seem to distribute several brands, and you can either buy direct through them or go to a retailer once you know what you're after.

I'm thinking of getting some solar panels but I wonder if they really generate enough power to make them worth it.

Hi Simon
Sure they do.
For info, I have a solar panel of 80W which is far enough for my use (daily trip, using VHF, pilot, GPS, ampli for music with a single battery). I never plug the boat.
If you race day and nigth, as the mini circuit, they have 2 batteries, and most of them now have only solar panels (2 x 50 W, or 2 x 80 W).
