2009 and 11 Transat
« on: August 05, 2007, 05:03:07 AM »

"As several candidates to the organisation of the next editions of the Mini-Transat are still waiting for some answers to close their files. The Board of Adminsitrators have decided to postpone the day of presentation to September, 10th (instead of Auguts, 1st)."

Any rumours or possible outcomes being talked about for the above meeting ??

Leo mentions on the '07 transat thread', that there is only 11 entrants remaining on the waiting list for this year.
Would that indicate that 09 would not necessiarily be over subscribed ?

Thoughts/comments anyone ??

It will be oversubscribed again, count on that. Only due to the fact that putting your name up for 09 waiting list and try to get it, will enhance your position for 11. Just a human thing :)

For the 11, its not only 11 :) Its a tough position to be in...

This may be a dumb question, but what happens on the September 10th?  What is this "day of presentation"?

Its about who is going to pay for the next transat, including start, stopover and  finish places.

pontoon talk:
several organizators will present their proposition for nex two editions of the MT. There will be Grand Pavois, AOS and city of Lorient, Winchez Club from Douarnenez and City of Brest. Everyone is trying to get their shit together while proposing new route, so it may happen that this is the last time minis go to Brazil. AOS is rumored to work in FRA - MArocco - French Guayane route, others are looking for a route to carribean again...
but at the end, it all comes down to funds. As they say, no cash - no splash...
