Title: Test drive a mini
Post by: Tsekul on October 10, 2017, 20:13:46 PM
Hi there,
We are considering buying a minitransat but think it would be a good idea to have a go in one.
Anyone out here in the southwest ish. Fancy taking us out for a spin one afternoon.

We currently race a westerly gk29 in falmouth. Also an RS400 .

Any help would be great

Hi from GBR 194. We have been sailing a proto mini out of Portland for the last six years. Now out of the water near Dorchester and will be up for sale soon as we've moved on to a bigger boat. More than happy for you to have a look. You won't be wasting our time - we just love talking minis. We have enjoyed sailing her but the other halves wanted something with a shower. Can send you a link with video and photos. Previously, we've sailed an RS 400 and Saffron is just a bigger version but doesn't capsize!

Hi
Thanks for the info. I have booked a weekend away on a minitransat introduction course in Italy !

Should be fun and I’ll get An idea if we really fancy it.

Thanks for the response , they don’t seem that popular in the UK. Probably because you get hammered on handicap if you chose to race them.

That's great. I didn't know these were even offered. Where did you find the course?

If you google Marcos nannini he runs class 6.50 taster weekends.

Had a good time, had a good try out and spent a couple of nights on board.

Really easy to get to from Pisa airport about 45mins on the train to Cecina .
