Title: Pogo 1 and articulating Bow Sprit
Post by: Sam Mini-Sailor.US on February 01, 2007, 18:07:05 PM
I can not post to the Pogo Association page for some reason. So I will ask my question here.

Did the Pogo 1 Class allow the use of articulating bow sprit?

If so, does it have to come from Structures to keep the Series classification or just use the same design?

Does anyone know the cost and how much work it is to do?

How many have done it? Results? Would you do it again?

My boat is in the US, but I don't want to hurt the Series classification for resale purposes.

Thanks

Sam

Yep allowed---
1200 Euro, has to come from Structures or build according their instructions.
It involves new pullpit. I would do it.
You need new spis too.

Hi Sam,
Leo is correct (of course)
If you can read French, have a look at http://www.assopogo.com/thread.php?lng=fr&pg=1169&fid=1&cat=1
BDO means articulating bowsprit. Basically, people who changed for it are happy. Maybe check with the new RSO about distance from pullpit to boat side. You can ask Structures.
You should be able to post on the pogo forum, try again, English is ok
cheers,
Patrick

Any pictures of the new BDO on the Pogo 1 out there?

I had already sent an email to Structures requesting info.

Thanks

Sam

Good idea Sam.  It's a shit load easier to use than that J/35 pole.

I think it looks good and its handy not to have to leave the cokcpit except for putting the bag in place. I would do it.... specially when you need to buy new spis...
